Founded in 1891, Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Our mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.

Each year we care for around 16,000 dogs at our nationwide network of 17 Rehoming Centres. No healthy dog is ever destroyed.

The Blue Cross

The PDSA

This year PDSA will provide more than 2.2 million free treatments to sick and injured pets and more than 360,000 preventive treatments. Our services are run by the hard-working vets and nurses at our PetAid hospitals and will cost more than £53 million to provide.

This is funded entirely by public support so a huge thank you is due to our many donors, customers and volunteers, who ensure PDSA is here to provide a healthy life for all our pets.

We are based just outside the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

The Hungarian Vizsla is a very sociable dog and since our older dog, Chloe passed away at the end of 2010, at the ripe old age of 14, we have decided it is time for Storm to have a new companion. Hopefully she will have a litter of her own puppies in 2011 one of which we hope will stay with us and possibly follow Storm into the show ring.

West Suffolk Agility Club

At West Suffolk Agility Club we teach responsible dog ownership and train our dogs with patience, kindness and reward. Throughout training classes dogs are continually rewarded with small food treats and lots of verbal praise and encouragement.

Although we are one club, we meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and run them as two separate groups. Wednesday’s class is known as the Fun & Social Agility and Thursday as the Improvers & Competition Level Agility. During both evenings experienced Instructors teach beginners on a one-to-one basis within the classes. We do not run set Beginners Courses as all dogs learn at different rates; the class Instructor will decide when each beginner is ready to learn each new piece of equipment.
