Puppy socialisation and training
These classes are for puppies from once they have completed their vaccination course up to six months of age. We cover sit, down, stand, recall away from play and walking nicely on a loose leash. We also look at the problem of puppies play biting and jumping up.
Classes are run on a ten consecutive week basis, and last for 45 minutes per class.
Classes are held on Friday and Saturday mornings.
Beginners Class
For puppies who have completed the puppy course.
Companion obedience
These classes are from six months of age upwards where we cover, sit/stays, down/stays, stand/stays, recalls with some distraction, fetch and introduction to the whistle right the way up to sendaways, timed stays, drop to command and or whistle etc.
Classes are held on a five consecutive week basis, and are between 45 minutes and one hour in duration.
Beginners / Fun dog agility
Classes held mainly March to December unless the weather is dry, then classes are held throughout the winter for those keen enough to take part!
Beginners' Agility Course - 10 consecutive weeks (one-off).
Fun Dog Agility - Booked in blocks of 5 consecutive weeks. Dogs must have completed the Beginners' course to attend the Fun Agility sessions.
- Dogs must be at least a year old, fit and not over weight.
- For the dog owners, agility is a great way to keep fit, but I have to say once the dogs know what they are doing, very often the owners get left behind!
Growl Workshops
These are for people owning dogs who do not get along with other dogs. These classes are not suitable for ‘dog to human’ aggression. There are a maximum of ten dogs per class and two instructors. Initially, all dogs are muzzled.
The aim of the classes is to get the dogs to be comfortable in the presence of other dogs and hopefully to have them take part in companion obedience and or dog agility at a later date.
Late Starters’ Classes
These classes are for dogs 6 months of age and upwards who have had little or no training at all to date.
Training workshops
For the dog owner who has specific training issues like their canine companion pulling on the lead, recall issues or for those who own dogs which simply have other bad manners like jumping up or barking for attention, through to those owners who would like to learn more about ’Clicker’ training but who are unable to commit to a five week training course but who would like a few training suggestions to try.
The workshops are held periodically and last two hours.
Days and times to be confirmed.
One to one personal training tuition (including gundog training)
For handlers and dogs who maybe experiencing a particular training issue like bad recalls, trophy running on retrieves, barking at cars or chasing anything from fur to joggers; or for those who would like to polish up their training skills in more depth.
Prices are charged at an hourly rate or clients may book either five or ten consecutive lessons to get a discount.
Home visits
These are for new puppy/dog owners who are experiencing a few issues at home or who feel they would benefit from a little guidance and help with their new family member, or indeed for those who may not have had a dog in a long while and are struggling with their new companion.
These visits are also beneficial for those owners having behaviour problems with their dog.
Summer School Holidays - Beginners' Dog Agility
These classes are for children 8 years of age and over who would like to have fun with their family dog during the summer school holidays. Spaces are limited.
The child’s parent/guardian must be present at these classes.
